Tax Portfolio Manager
Merry Mullen are seeking to recruit a Tax Portfolio Manager.
The Tax Portfolio Manager will work closely with the Tax Director and will have a mix of compliance and advisory projects for personal and corporate clients across all tax heads.
This role is ideally suited to an individual with 3-5 years post qualification experience that is looking to work in a firm that is committed to providing proactive and innovative advice that provides lasting value to clients.
This is a new opportunity within our firm and requires a positive, self-motivated individual with superior organisational and technical skills who can execute multiple tasks simultaneously to ensure a high level of professional standards.
The role will entail:
- Managing a diverse portfolio of personal and corporate clients.
- Preparing and reviewing returns across the portfolio of clients.
- Managing and assisting with specific advisory assignments in all areas of tax to include corporate tax, income tax (including payroll taxes), capital gains tax, capital acquisitions tax and VAT.
- Take ownership of client relationships and manage same, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm.
Personal Relationship Management:
- Build effective relationships with team, other internal teams and clients.
Skills & Competencies required:
- A qualification as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) is essential and an Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) is desirable.
- Experience working across multiple tax heads (min 3+ years PQE).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to successfully prioritise workload.
- An enthusiastic team player with a commitment to continually developing as a tax professional.
- The ability to work with different taxation software and proficient in Microsoft Office.
